Hydrafacial was founded in 1997 by Roger Ignon, along with co-inventor Bill Cohen. Together, they set a course to revolutionize spa-quality skincare. Their company designs, assembles, and markets machines that are used in spas, resorts, and dermatology offices around the country. The Hydrafacial service experienced tremendous growth with both providers and consumers coming out of the Great Recession, leading the founders to look for outside support to fully capitalize on the momentum.

In 2012, we partnered with Roger and Bill. While they remained actively involved in running the company, our partnership focused on brand & marketing initiatives (re-branding the business from Edge Systems to Hydrafacial), executive recruitment, and long-term investment into field training and support for our partner licensee operators.

We truly believed in the product Hydrafacial had created, and we knew we needed to get it in front of more people. The brand initially was targeted to professionals, and we worked to develop a much more consumer-friendly, emotive brand. Hydrafacial developed several procedures and products to be used with the existing technology, and heavily invested in licensing, distribution and training, both statewide and internationally. We re-applied our learnings from franchise operations to support the development and growth of our licensee partner as we expanded unit placements globally.
